After facilitating an exciting image theatre workshop at the Critical Connections conference at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2007, Sara and Adam decided to start a theatre and education company back in Toronto. Sara and Adam, co-directors of In Forma Theatre, originally met as graduate students at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto (OISE/UT). With backgrounds in popular education and theatre of the oppressed, we were eager to transform theory into practice and bring our work to communities and organizations.
Over the next couple of years, we sought out connections with community leaders and organizations and facilitated workshops whenever possible. Eventually, we formed valuable community partnerships and have developed trusting relationships with a growing clientele.
